Meditation at Ichinen Bridport

Sometimes in life one needs guidance and advice. In this worksheet I will talk about the value of Mediation and how it can be approached.

I have been meditating myself for many years now. Basically it started for me when I entered the world of the Martial Arts and Yoga.  In 1989 when I graduated as a 1st Dan Jiu-Jitsu I was already close to other Masters who offered meditation and I was lucky to “study” with them.

Later in 1996 I graduated finally as Tantra Yoga teacher and after that I never been without the meditation.

I have compiled a selection of the topics I found relevant to know and hope they will raise your interest too.

1. Meditation is not what the people say and what you read about it in the media or social media sometimes. Before the meditation there is the concentration and after that the contemplation.

2. You cannot learn this from books or other media. You need the personal advice, because meditation opens doors of your life they might give you a struggle to deal with on your own.

3. There are many ways how to meditate. Best is to choose one and stick to it for good progress.

4. You need daily practise. And do not expect fast results.

5. Meditation can change your circumstances (Life) but it is not a quick fix.

6. Keep it simple. A simple approach is good for many things in life.

7. Stay happy along the way. It helps a lot!

8. The fire of emotions needs to be kept low.

9. Patience is the essence of a man says an Asian proverb. Be patient with all what comes.

10. Free your mind from all these stories J

11. At Ichinen we meditate every Sunday morning at 9 am. Join in and start your journey.

Great success and much to learn at mindfulness seminar with Bridport martial arts school

It was a great success and much to learn at mindfulness seminar with Bridport martial arts school Ichinen Bridport. On Sunday the 18th the seminar took place at the Dojo in Loders / Dorset.

First Grandmaster Horst Lindenau demonstrated the "do's and don't s" within real self defence. Probably the most important: You can't always run and ... honestly, where we live the risk of being attacked is rather small. But hey, better prepared than surprised!

Bridport instructor, Master Brian Lovell gave an introduction into the fabulous world of Tai Chi. Students were shown the first steps into this fine art of physical enlightenment. The beginner and the advanced students enjoyed Brian's professional and relaxed approach to demonstrate his Tai Chi style.

After four hours of concentration and relaxation all students received a beautiful certificate to remember this unique seminar. And it is just the right thing to do says Grandmaster Horst Lindenau: " It's good to be a student again and learn new skills".

Meditation is an act of simplicity

Meditation on a rock visiting Vietnam

Meditation is nothing complicated. A retired fisherman who sits at the harbour with a glass of tea and watches the world goes by or an old lady sitting in front of the fire and knits... they both do a kind of meditation.

It becomes more complicated if you are not one of both. In our today’s fast paced complicated world, being simple has become a lost art I would say. With Ichinen Bridport and Master Horst you can get assistance to learn for yourself to find the way you always had on mind you should go.

Meditation can improve your life

Are you happy?
Is your life good?
Do you like yourself?

If not, please remember your happiness and success in life does only come from within yourself.
Stay positive and never allow the negativity to step into your life.
You will be surprised what you are able to achieve, when you only once started.

You can learn and train these skills with master Horst Lindenau.

Meditation with Master Horst

ADVISE FOR STUDENTS

Don’t think that one training you attend in the week will make you fit. Fit enough to challenge the aim you have sat yourself. To become a martial artist, a warrior, a fighter in life you will have to master the discipline.
Therefore you can (should) do the following:

1. Make sure you attend at each single lesson. Give yourself the discipline to do so. There is only one reason not to come to the class, when your mother dies! I gave up martial arts training during my way through life for certain reasons several times. And I regret it! Reasons like, a new fiancee, work, interest in other things and as well of cause too lazy! Unfortunately I did not have the master to tell me what I tell you now.

2. Establish daily routine with some kind of exercise. I change between press ups, sit-ups, chin-ups on the bar.

3. Do breathing methods. More information about that you can find on our blog and there are lots of good books available and we learn it too in the class.

4. You don’t gain enough physical fitness by one class per week. So try to attend to another venue, which fits in your weekly routine. This can be swimming, another kind of sport.

5. My biggest idol, Master Bruce Lee said: “Jogging is the best method to get and stay fit.” Do it. It doesn’t cost anything.

6. Pick up meditation. Mind over matter. There are new appointments for meditation with Master Horst Lindenau available now at Ichinen Bridport.

Zen in the martial arts

In 1994 I crated a Japanese Zen garden in the village of Symondsbury / Dorset / UK.

It was done by the help of several of my martial arts students and other friends. the building of it took twelve months. The size was about 100 square meters and one had to enter via a small gate.

Stone of courage in the former Zen garden

One inspiration to build the garden came by reading this book:

"Zen in the martial arts"
