A message from Grand master Horst Lindenau 6th Dan Black Combat

Sharpen the mind. Your mind is your best weapon

Mind and body is only a tool which works for you. And as any tool it is only as good if it is kept in good order. In good weather sometimes broken ships reach the next port. Same as a martial artist who trains usually in a comfy Dojo, light and heating on, wearing a Gi and only surrounded by minds they don't do any harm. the body is protected under Dojo guidelines, health and safety instructions and very often the own laziness for hard training.

Now step in the real world. The times ahead of us will be more challenging than anything we have experienced so far in our sheltered lives.

Therefor, take your training serious. Prepare for the worst, than you are able to deal what will happen, as the worst is not that often to be happen. If, body and mind need to be aware and work together like a clockwork.

New logo for Bridport martial arts school on Facebook

Our new logo on Facebook shows what we are doing. Anti Terror Combat > hardcore fighting and street wise self defence - Self defence is one of our basics in Jiu-Jitsu. We train permanent the most common attacks - Jiu-Jitsu is a traditional Japanese martial art and we are very proud of it - Children learn the Jiu-Jitsu easy at Ichinen Bridport - Without Meditation there is no personal progress in the world of martial arts. It would be just meaningless - Yoga is taught by Grandmaster Horst Lindenau who is a qualified Tantra Yoga teacher. Namaste!

Update  >>>
Anti Terror Combat is now called BlackCombat!

Yoga with Master Horst Lindenau

Master Horst Lindenau is one of the few martial artists who also practice and hold a Yoga diploma. Now over 21 years ago, Horst graduated as a Tantra Yoga teacher at the Birinsi institute in the Netherlands/Utrecht and has taught since then in Germany and in the UK. One of his former Yoga pupils from Bridport, David Shires is himself today a Yoga teacher and health practitioner.

You can join the small group once a week. We meet usually on a Wednesday morning in Bridport.
Private tuition is available after consultation.

Great success and much to learn at mindfulness seminar with Bridport martial arts school

It was a great success and much to learn at mindfulness seminar with Bridport martial arts school Ichinen Bridport. On Sunday the 18th the seminar took place at the Dojo in Loders / Dorset.

First Grandmaster Horst Lindenau demonstrated the "do's and don't s" within real self defence. Probably the most important: You can't always run and ... honestly, where we live the risk of being attacked is rather small. But hey, better prepared than surprised!

Bridport instructor, Master Brian Lovell gave an introduction into the fabulous world of Tai Chi. Students were shown the first steps into this fine art of physical enlightenment. The beginner and the advanced students enjoyed Brian's professional and relaxed approach to demonstrate his Tai Chi style.

After four hours of concentration and relaxation all students received a beautiful certificate to remember this unique seminar. And it is just the right thing to do says Grandmaster Horst Lindenau: " It's good to be a student again and learn new skills".

Conquer haste

It says... those who are patient in the trivial things and can control themselves will one day have the same mastery in bigger and more important things.

Grandmaster Horst Weiland (10th Dan) is dead

“The spirit directs, the body performs the soul combines both.”

On Thursday, April 26, 2007, Grandmaster Horst Weiland (10th Dan Jiu-Jitsu) died after a serious illness at the age of 79. We mourn the founder of the Budo Academy Europe, Anti-Terrorkampf self-defence, but above all a unique martial artist, great master and revered teacher. His death represents an immeasurable loss for the budo world and for all those who were lucky enough to learn from him or know him.

The elephant becomes the mascot of Ichinen Bridport

In March 2003 Master Horst Lindenau introduced the elephant as the mascot of Ichinen Bridport martial arts school. Elephants form deep family bonds called a herd. The herd is led by the oldest and often largest female. Elephants are extremely intelligent animals. Elephants are known for their enormous memory, strength and very good social behaviour. That’s why we have chosen them as our mascot. Unfortunately they are under big threat in nature wildlife and need much protection.

Zen in the martial arts

In 1994 I crated a Japanese Zen garden in the village of Symondsbury / Dorset / UK.

It was done by the help of several of my martial arts students and other friends. the building of it took twelve months. The size was about 100 square meters and one had to enter via a small gate.

Stone of courage in the former Zen garden

One inspiration to build the garden came by reading this book:
